IAEA mission has come to the end in Georgia. The purpose of Mission was to study the safety regulatory infrastructure and its compliance with international standards.
The reforms taken over the last years in the field of nuclear and radiation safety were positively evaluated by the Mission and the importance of establishing new regulatory system was emphasized.


LEPL Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety within International Atomic Energy Agency technical cooperation project at November 17, 2017 has received radiation monitoring equipment (system)  produced by BERTHOLD. The system will be installed at the area of Centralized Storage Facility (CSF) and Saakadze radioactive waste disposal site.

The consultation meeting for drafting the guidance “Current Status of Predisposal Management of Institutional Radioactive Waste” was held in International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters in Vienna at October 10-13, 2017.  

The coordination meeting for International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) international project was held in Kula Lumpur Malaysia, at October 16-20, 2017, where together with 28 different country representatives The Head of Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety (ANRS) and The Head of Radioactive Waste Management Department of ANRS were participated.
