On 18 September, 2019 in the framework of the International Atomic Energy 63rd General Conference, Georgian Delegation hosted the side event: “International Assistance for a patient from the radiological accident, which occurred in 1997 in Lilo, Georgia”.

On May 20-23, 2019, the International Atomic Energy Agency with the support of the Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety held a workshop on "Nuclear Security Culture in practice".

The meeting was opened by Vasil Gedevanishvili, Head of The Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety and was led by experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency: Io Nakamura, Axel Hageman and Russell Jones.


On March 6, 2019, a public hearing of the report, prepared by the European Union and Swedish Radiation Regulatory Authority on implementation of "National Strategy of 2017-2031 of Radioactive Waste Management" approved by the Decree No. 640 (December 30, 2016) of the Government of Georgia was held.
Representatives of various governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, as well as Gardabani municipality and Martkopi community were invited.

On 21-22 January 2019 International Programs Officer of US NRC, Emily Larson and representatives of contractor organization LLC Qi Tech Sergei Kacenelenbogen and Peter Kelm visited Lepl Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety.
Meeting was held with Vasil Gedevanishvili - head of the Agency of nuclear and radiation safety, deputy head Khatia Jikuridze and Grigol Basilia, the head of Inspection and response service.
