In 2026, Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Safety further strengthened its cooperation with international partners.
During the first half of 2026, staff members of the Agency of Nuclear and Radiation Agency participated in more than 20 international events, including trainings, workshops, and expert missions.
At the same time, in close cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), six international-level events were held in Georgia, including technical and regional workshops, as well as expert missions. The meetings and training events covered key areas such as:
- Nuclear and radiation safety;
- Development of regulatory systems and international cooperation;
- Nuclear security;
- Safe management of radioactive sources and radioactive waste;
- Radiation protection and monitoring;
- Emergency preparedness and response.
Active engagement with international partners contributes to the professional development of Agency staff, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the adoption of best international practices. Ultimately, this process further strengthens the nuclear and radiation safety system in Georgia.
