INSPECTION  ENFORCEMENT

According to the Administrative Offences Code of Georgia the following sanctions are specified for non-compliance with the requirements of the legislation of Georgia (Administrative Offences Code of Georgia, article 592, Violation of the Rules of Using Ionizing Radiation Sources):
 
  • Revealing violation of the license conditions on the part of a physical or legal person, namely the organizational violations (inconsistency of the records and documentation with the requirements set out by the legislation of Georgia) – will be fined by 200 GEL;
  • Revealing violation of the license conditions on the part of a physical or legal person that poses an imminent radiological hazard to workers and/or patients (may incur damage to workers and/or patients by exceeding the limits of radiation dose) – 500 GEL;
  • Revealing violation of the license conditions on the part of a physical or legal person that may incur radiological damage to the population and/or contaminate the environment – 1500 GEL;
  • Releasing radioactive substances into the air exceeding existing dose limits from facilities possessing sources of ionizing radiation – 1500 GEL;
  • Discharging contaminated wastewater with radioactive substances above permitted levels from facilities possessing sources of ionizing radiation – 1500 GEL;
  • Handling souces of ionizing radiation  (except nuclear materials or equipment, radioactive waste and radioactive substances) without holding  a license – 2000 GEL.
